iWOMEN'S HEALTH CARE
We’re a small practice in Chandler that’s 100-percent focused on providing the best possible care to our patients. The "i" in iWomen's Health Care stands for this individualized, integrated support. As we care for patients throughout their lives and monitor them through their pregnancies, we build trust that becomes absolutely critical to a successful birth. Unlike standard obstetric practices, we integrate our care with midwifery to maximize benefits for expectant moms.
We pride ourselves on treating patients like family. Our team of talented professionals includes a women's health nurse practitioner, ultrasound technologists, and medical assistants with many years of experience in providing excellent health care. We offer a range of integrated obstetrics and gynecological services to promote wellness and assist with family planning. If you’re looking for a doctor or midwife to help you through your first, second, or third (or more!) pregnancy, reach out to us. We’re excited to show you just how personalized care can be.
our midwifery model
This includes gentle, nurturing care that respects you, your family, and your beliefs. As part of this, we respect your informed decisions about medical tests, recommendations, and interventions. Dr. Kells and Dr. Garza will always present a willingness to support your birth plan, including any family members and friends you may want present at the birth. We believe in a mother’s freedom to move, eat, bathe…to do what helps you during labor and birth; Your midwife doesn't "prohibit" or "allow," but patiently supports and guides you. At iWomen’s Health Care, we have respect for the birth process as it unfolds uniquely each time. Although amazing, being pregnant and giving birth are actually normal life processes for which a woman's body is well designed. We acknowledge that the natural technique does not exclude epidurals when desired.
We believe in prenatal visits that allow plenty of time for questions and answers. Sixty minutes or more for an initial prenatal appointment is anticipated. Our team is interested in meaningful discussions to explore and help resolve fears and concerns you or your family may have. Lastly, we provide caring attention to develop a trusting and nurturing relationship that can help you to labor and give birth naturally and safely.
Plenty of Information
This is huge for us: a parent’s education about pregnancy, birth, and the newborn, as well as breastfeeding and newborn care are of the utmost importance to us. We can provide suggestions about ways you can take good care of yourself and your baby as well as encouragement and practical suggestions for good nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices. We provide clear, complete information about any recommended tests, procedures, or treatments so you can make informed choices.
We focus on providing care through regular and thorough check-ups for you and your baby throughout your pregnancy, during labor, and after the birth to make sure everyone is healthy and happy. Whenever necessary, we make recommendations for diagnostic technology and can prepare you for the unexpected and rare emergency. We have expertise in normal, natural childbirth and know when to seek consultation, collaboration, or referrals to obstetricians. Of course, we connect our patients to any other specialists (the best ones we know) whenever soon-to-be moms or families have concerns or needs beyond our scope of practice.
Confidence in Your Body
This means we help with discovering your own body's ability to give birth, in its own way and in its own time. There are no routine treatments or arbitrary timetables that can interfere with your body's healthy process of laboring and birth—we provide truly individualized care, privacy, and natural childbirth as well as support for doing the work of giving birth. Rather than someone else "delivering the baby," you are empowered to give birth to your baby!
Natural Techniques for Comfort
We help you cope with the discomfort of labor. Midwives have found that encouragement, massage, relaxation, laboring in water, change of positions, and other approaches are often very effective in minimizing pain or discomfort. We also are encouraging throughout the progress of labor and helping you give birth to your baby gently and lovingly. Finally, we do our best to help you avoid risks to yourself and your baby that are associated with many standard medical techniques and hospital protocols.
A Caregiver who Stays With You
We provide attentive, sensitive care, and emotional support in tune with your needs throughout labor. Research has shown that having a "sympathetic female companion" with you all through labor and birth reduces the chance of complications and the likelihood of an unnecessary cesarean section. The Midwives Model of Care means that your midwife stays with you and "mothers the mother." Beyond birth, we also assist with postpartum care and help with breastfeeding. After your baby is born, the midwife stays until breastfeeding is established and both you and your baby are resting comfortably. She will arrange a visit after the birth to check on you and your baby and answer any questions.
